Our College FAQs
Are the programs accredited?
Yes. Each program is fully accredited with Lakeland College or Red River College. We have also negotiated full transfer of our Lakeland College courses into a BA of Northern Studies (U of S).
What do I need to start my class?
You will need:
- A computer – P4 or higher, or a MAC
- Internet – DSL preferably
- Headset & Microphone – (Supplied by Credenda on request)
- Java – Free software online. Click here to check if your computer already has it.
- Wordprocessor - (MS Office or OpenOffice)
How do I apply?
We require 2 forms for Lakeland programs, and 1 form for Red River programs. These forms are available on our registration page.
When can I join?
Each prospective student can register before the beginning of each 8 week course. We accept students throughout the calendar year. However, some of our programs have pre-requisites, so please check with the Registrar to clarify if this affects you.
What are the admission requirements?
You must be at least 18 years of age on or before December 31 of your first year at college. Exceptions may be considered.
The following consideration will be given to applicants who do not meet one or more of the admission requirements:
- High school diploma requirement will be waived for applicants meeting all other requirements.
- High school English requirement for any program will be waived, providing the applicant successfully completes a standardized English test
- High school math requirement for any program will be waived, providing the applicant successfully completes a standardized math test
All other applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis and counseled on the best course of action.
How long will it take me to complete the program?
We deliver our programs on a part-time basis. Each certificate program takes 2 years to complete.
- Students attend their class one night per week for 3 hours with a live eInstructor.
- Each course (module) is approximately 8 weeks in length.
How much is this going to cost me?
The total cost of each program varies and is subject to change. Over the two year period, the Business Administration Certificate program costs $5990 and the Education Assistant Certificate $7040. The Early Learning & Child Care Certificate costs $6515 as does the Early Learning & Child Care Diploma. The cost for the Library Training Program is $5465. These costs include application fee, 2 yearly fees, and a graduation fee.
Part of your cost is the application fee and the yearly program access fee. These are mandatory, non-refundable, and due upon registration.
How do I pay?

Do you provide assistance with securing funding?
We can help point you in the direction of various funding options and contact numbers.
Do you offer awards, scholarships, and busaries?
There is a Crown Investments Corporation (CIC) Aboriginal Bursaries for Lakeland Courses for Aboriginal student (Indian, Metis or Inuit) enrolling in Business Administration. Details on our bursary page. Lakeland College offers a listing of external awards, scholarships, and busaries at http://www.lakelandcollege.ca/campus_life/financial_aid/external_awards.aspx. Credenda brokers its courses from other post-secondary institutions so you are considered a Credenda student. Unfortunately, this means you are not usually eligible to apply for internal awards, scholarships, and busaries at your course's accrediting institution.
Is your website a secure site?

When is graduation for each of the programs?
We hold graduation on the first Saturday of the first week of October each year in Prince Albert.
