Program Description

What a child learns during the first years of life will last a lifetime. If you are dedicated to providing opportunities for children to discover, explore, create, and learn through play then this is the program for you. The basis of the Early Learning and Child Care Certificate Program is that learning through play is central to the healthy development of young children. At the same time, you will learn the values and culture of a child's local community with regard to childcare.

The program gives a comprehensive introduction to child growth, behaviour and development, as well as how to plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate experiences in a stimulating environment which provides for the health, safety and nutrition of children.

Early Learning and Child Care Certificate Program will strengthen your understanding and skills, thereby enhancing the quality of service received by children. The program offers the learner the knowledge, experience and perspective for an enjoyable, successful career working with young children.

Your instructors, Kasey Fulton and Ashley Duiker.
